About

SAMUEL NAVEDO

Born 1974, Vega Baja, Puerto Rico

Born in the coastal city of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, Samuel Navedohas always embraced the expressive power of color. His vibrant Caribbean roots, his family, and the natural beauty of the island form the foundation of his creative vision-radiating through each of his warm, luminous canvases.

A self-taught artist, Navedo began drawing caricatures at the age of six. His natural talent quickly became evident- not only to his mother and five older siblings, but to the entire community. Their encouragement became the driving force that pushed him to immerse himself in art and purse it with intention and purpose.

Throughout his early years, Navedo experimented with a variety of mediums and mixed-media techniques, though he would not commit to canvas until later in his artistic journey.

At twenty-nine, he relocated to Miami, Florida, where he presented his first gallery exhibition, “Colores Culturales”, in December 2003. Today, he maintains his own gallery studio in Miami’s Bird Road Art District.

Continuing to evolve his methods and vision, Navedo creates artwork that celebrate culture, color, memory, and the emotional landscapes that shape a life. His paintings honor the rhythms of his heritage and the vibrant spirit that has lived within him since childhood.
